Blog EntryPerth, Day Ten: Sushi Train and BordersJan 25, '08 2:26 AM
for everyone
Yesterday, we were working on a plan when the cleaner arrived. So as soon as we finished then plan, we cleared out of the house to get lunch. It must have been around 3:15 PM.

Lee suggested the sushi train, since I said I'd never tried it. So we drove to CBD and walked to the sushi train place.

It was so cute! Little plates with two (if they're big), three, or eight (if they're small) pieces of sushi on them, just riding on the, er, tracks, going round and round, parading their wares till you decided which one you wanted to sink your teeth into. The plates were different colors, and each color was a different price. Since it was almost 4:00 PM when we got there, we were in time for the 3-5 PM happy hour, where there was a 30% discount on all plates except for the black and white ones. That was just fine; there was plenty of variety on the brown, red, yellow and green plates. And since it's sushi, I only had a total of three plates, and I was stuffed!

I had an epiphany while we were there:

Life is like a sushi train. You have all these options trailing past you, and some will cost you more than others. Some of these options are recurring, and others are a once-in-a-lifetime chance. But really, it's all up to you which plates you pick. In the end, the price you pay is all because of the plates you chose.

:D

So anyway. After that, we had just enough time for me to stop by a small souvenir shop to get a few things, then browse at Borders.

Ah Borders. If Manila has that giant Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street, then the US has Borders. Oneal mentioned that there was Borders in Australia too, yay!

There's only one Borders branch in all of Western Australia. It's only two stories. But WOW ALL THE BOOKS. We didn't have a lot of time to look around; we just got a book for Dante, and Lee bought a new RA Salvatore book to read, and we had to head back because the cleaner would have been done.

Yay books!

How uncharacteristically aphoristic of you. And for that, I give you another aphorism:

"Life is like nilaga with saba: you have to take the savory with the sweet."

Mwahahaha!
