There was a minimal entrance fee to the festival. Half of the proceeds of the sales were going to the peace and order of Olongapo, and the other half was going to support indigent scholars in the area. We were part of the attractions. We marched up and down Magsaysay Ave., and were presented on two of the stages as well.
Iba talaga sa labas ng Manila. People were shy, and afraid to approach us. We had to be the ones to go near them, so that they'd take pictures. Kids were so nice and sweet. Even the street kids were well-behaved!
I guess it also helped that we had a police escort. :D
Another nice thing about trooping in Olongapo is that my grandfather's family is from Zambales, Castillejos to be exact. But we're only in Zambales during Holy Week, and we never even go to Olongapo. It was nice to visit, and to share the love of Star Wars with my family's home province as well.
