After the tragic disappearance of my beloved personal stylist since college, Donna, I was, for a long time, at a loss for a hair and make-up artist (HMUA). I was in denial, hoping against hope that he would recover from his broken heart, reappear, and save me from the hassle of searching for another HMUA. For months I refused to even consider looking for another HMUA, for the prospect of facing new people, and allowing them to cut, treat and abuse my hair with little to no knowledge of my preferences, history and ideas, was just too much to bear. For months I waited.

But alas, I had hoped in vain. No Donna. :(

So now, I have succumbed, and agreed to face other HMUAs. First up: Jovan's suki'ng bakla, Ingrid, who owns his own parlor in Marikina.

Test make-up cost: P500
Package: P10,000 for 12 persons

My comments:

1. I love my hair! I heart the curls! Ang cute cute. I felt so cute and flirty and pretty and sexy with my curly hair. Ingrid said it's better to just use a curling iron and not get digital curls before the wedding, so that my hair doesn't get damaged.


2. I showed Ingrid pictures of celebrities whose make-up I liked, and whose skin tone I felt matched mine. He instantly picked Frieda Pinto over the other celebrities I showed him, like Rihanna and Halle Berry. I liked that, because I really like how she looks.


3. What a reasonable rate! For the package he's offering, we can have make-up done for me, Mom, Oneal's mom, Oneal, Jovan, and five more people! Hanep.


4. Eight hours later, maganda pa rin yung hair and make-up ko.
