Our friend Grace saw my
HMU test #2, and showed it to her sister, Marilyn, who is an event coordinator for EventLab. Marilyn suggested I try their tried-and-tested salon, Watercolors, and their suki, Rose. For the first time, my hair and make-up were done by a woman!
So I made an appointment for 1pm today, in time for tonight's Girls Night Out part deux. Comments:
Test hair and make-up session: P1,500
Bride hair and make-up: P6,500
Wedding package: P9,000, 3 pax, no retouch
Retouch: Additional P3,000
1. Ms. Rose was very nice and chatty, and frequently asked if I was okay, and asked about the wedding, my grooming habits, and made suggestions for my grooming on the big day. I really appreciated it.
2. The hair and make-up took two hours. I think that's faster than my two previous sessions.
3. I warned Ms. Rose about my hair and its natural resistance to curls. She rubbed mousse into my hair and put it into curlers, and let it set while she did my make-up. After the make-up was done, she and another assistant used curling irons to further curl my hair, since my hair wasn't as curly as they hoped. Towards the end, they were calling me Marimar. :P
4. They seemed very amused with me! I don't know why. There were three stylists in the salon, and lahat sila na-involve sa hair and make-up ko.
5. I love the make-up! Five hours later, it still looks good. I just need to blot the oil from my face.
6. The curls seem to be lasting longer than
Pinky's curls, and that's a good sign. If it lasts till the GNO later, I'll be very tempted to book Ms. Rose na. :P
7. Con: Some make-up irritated my left eye, and it was tearing up slightly for about an hour after the make-up was done. As a result, there's a bit of a streak at the corner of my left eye, but I don't think it's very noticeable, unless you're looking for it. So far that's the only problem.
